Wisconsin Technology Council
The Wisconsin Technology Council is the science and technology
advisor to the Governor and the Legislature. Launched in
2001, the Tech Council was created by a bipartisan act of
the governor and the Legislature. It is an independent, nonprofit
and non-partisan board with members from tech companies,
venture capital firms, all levels of education, research
institutions, government and law.According to the
Tech Council, in order to build a 21st century economy,
Wisconsin must make the most of its people, resources and
opportunities, and meet the challenges posed by the rise
of the Knowledge Economy.
To address these challenges, the Tech Council developed a
detailed set of recommendations in the 2002 report Vision
2020: A Model Wisconsin Economy.
