Mission: The 7 Rivers Alliance is a regional leadership group that boosts economic growth by fostering collaboration in western Wisconsin, southeast Minnesota and northeast Iowa. Competitive Wisconsin, Inc. is nonpolitical consortium of agriculture, business, education and labor leaders working together to improve the economic climate of Wisconsin in order to encourage the expansion of existing businesses and enhance the possibility of developing and attracting new business.

Wisconsin Technology Council
The Wisconsin Technology Council is the science and technology advisor to the Governor and the Legislature. Launched in 2001, the Tech Council was created by a bipartisan act of the governor and the Legislature. It is an independent, nonprofit and non-partisan board with members from tech companies, venture capital firms, all levels of education, research institutions, government and law.According to the Tech Council, in order to build a 21st century economy, Wisconsin must make the most of its people, resources and opportunities, and meet the challenges posed by the rise of the Knowledge Economy.

To address these challenges, the Tech Council developed a detailed set of recommendations in the 2002 report Vision 2020: A Model Wisconsin Economy.
